Write for Hallmark!

Have you sent any of your romance stories or novels to #Hallmark Book Publishing? If yes, what was your experience?

If no, you might consider it.

Their requirements are 'wholesome and sweet'-with no sexy, erotica, bodice-ripping shades of anything but purity white.

Kissing is allowed but avoids passionate kissing and it should be well into the story.

The couple comes close to kissing early in the story but usually interrupted by a ringing phone, a door slamming shut, or someone walking in on them.

Your romance and/or mystery should be between 65,00 and 85,000 words, usually contemporary, with a family setting.

If you can include townspeople, all the better, and a small-town festival is the icing on the Hallmark book cake.

A fiancé or boyfriend showing up to halt the potential new romance adds drama.

Faith can be included but no dogma or preaching. A happy ending is a must, usually surrounded by family and friends.

Holiday and festive themes are encouraged. They prefer young romance and stateside locations. Occasionally I have read or seen one of their romances in a foreign country, but it's rare.

Paranormal stories are not on the basic Hallmark menu. Mysteries with a strong female amateur detective are the specialty of the day. If it can become a series, it is a dessert with extra whipped cream.

They accept self-published work and anything previously published that meets their guidelines. All rights belong to the author.

One last thing, they do not accept written manuscripts, You can submit your story online.
